The Creekside Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were outmatched by Tri-Cities on the road and fell 86-51. While losing is never fun, Creekside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Tri-Cities is ranked 87th).
Creekside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dorian Hardy, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Hardy continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Elizjah Phillips was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Creekside's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Tri-Cities, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.
Creekside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chapel Hill at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. Chapel Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Creekside likes a good challenge. As for Tri-Cities, they will head out on the road to take on Mays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mays has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 562 points over their last eight games.
