Basketball Recap: Vyom Vidyarthi Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eastside College Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Priory, Harker was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 55-50 W over the Eastside College Prep Panthers. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 76-62 loss the last time these two teams met.

Harker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vyom Vidyarthi out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Vidyarthi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Advay Monga, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Harker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Harker's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Eastside College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

Harker will face off against Menlo School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Harker's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Eastside College Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-27 victory against More on the 27th.
