The Wolfson Wolfpack will head out to square off against the Andrew Jackson Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wolfson has four straight victories, Andrew Jackson has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Wolfson got the win against Eagle's View by a conclusive 23-1. Considering the Wolfpack have won eight games by more than 14 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Booher made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Dylan Hetrick was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Isabel Nieves also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Wolfson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .630. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson came up short against Sandalwood on Thursday and fell 10-6.
Andrew Jackson saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taelor Chambliss, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Deja Wescott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Wolfson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.3 runs over those games. As for Andrew Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wolfson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. However, it's not like Andrew Jackson struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Wolfson's way against Andrew Jackson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Wolfson made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wolfson since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
