Academic Magnet was the  37-36 winner over Stratford when they last played one another  back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Academic Magnet Raptors were dealt  a  62-21 defeat at the hands of the Stratford Knights on Friday.  Stratford had a senior duo take command as  Ciara Mustapher  dropped  a double-double on 26 points and ten  steals and  Sydnie Stepney  dropped  a double-double on 16  boards and ten  steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which  Mustapher has scored at least a third of Stratford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Averi Johnson, who  posted nine points and four  steals.
Academic Magnet has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record  this season. As for Stratford, their win  ended  a  nine-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 5-5.
 Academic Magnet will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Charleston Collegiate at 6:30  p.m.  on January 7, 2025. Stratford and Pisgah will round out the year against one another at  at 2:00  p.m.  on December 30th.
