The Anderson Titans will face off against the Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Anderson was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Taylor 5-4. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
J'Khari Clinton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Reese Randall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Mallory Addison, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Southfield Arts & Tech got the win against Avondale on Thursday by a conclusive 16-2. Considering the Warriors have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
London Adams, 2028 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cienna Bell, 2028, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games she's played. Farrah Phillips, 2028 was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Southfield Arts & Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Southfield Arts & Tech's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Anderson, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Anderson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southfield Arts & Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
