Vernon falling 60-41. Mt. Vernon has not had much luck with North Posey recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Mt. Vernon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nicot Burnett. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Mt. Vernon bumped their record down to 4-6 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for North Posey, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Mt. Vernon and Southridge will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Southridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Vernon in Indiana (Southridge is ranked 56th, while Mt. Vernon is ranked 267th). As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tecumseh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tecumseh is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
