Harvest Prep is 0-4 against Wellington School since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Harvest Prep Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Wellington School Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Harvest Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Thurgood Marshall, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. The win was just what Harvest Prep needed coming off of a 61-29 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Adjoa Acheampong, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. She set a new season high mark in steals with three. Another player making a difference was Maliyah Lofton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Meanwhile, Wellington School put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Bishop Rosecrans 40-8 at home. Considering Wellington School has won four matches by more than 22 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The victory got Harvest Prep back to even at 3-3. As for Wellington School, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Harvest Prep came up short against Wellington School in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, falling 41-32. Can Harvest Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
