The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lowndes Academy. Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost against Lowndes Academy in their previous head to head on Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-38 score last time.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keagan Roney, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Roney hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jacob Johnson, who scored nine points.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy has fallen quite a ways from their 25-7 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Lowndes Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will take on Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Springwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 740 points over their last ten contests. Lowndes Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sparta Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
