The Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Wildcats will head out to challenge the Pinewood Prep Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics came up short against St. John's and fell 8-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Spears, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Pinewood Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Wilson Hall on Tuesday, taking the game 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Max Poulakis made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, Pinewood Prep got a big performance out of Finley Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Will Watson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Pinewood Prep, their record now sits at 20-4.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Pinewood Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Pinewood Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
