The Gregory School Hawks stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Augustine Catholic 73-39 on the road. Winning may never get old, but The Gregory School sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
The Gregory School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Razin Smith led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Dawson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
The Gregory School's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
The Gregory School will head out on the road to square off against Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while The Gregory School is ranked 99th). As for St. Augustine Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
