Benjamin Franklin has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Carver Vo-Tech Bears at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Benjamin Franklin stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 72-50 margin over Chesapeake Science Point. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Benjamin Franklin has posted since December 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Carver Vo-Tech's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Forest Park 71-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (59), Carver Vo-Tech still had to take the loss.
Carver Vo-Tech's defeat came about despite a quality game from Dorrian Sands, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Sands is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Ross, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Benjamin Franklin pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Carver Vo-Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Benjamin Franklin was taken down by Carver Vo-Tech 62-30 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Benjamin Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
