Larned/Pawnee Heights made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,824 from 7,846. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-8 victory over More Prep-Marian last week.
The Indians led Mid-Central in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Monarchs.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Ellinwood's Marc Waite and Tanner Swank have proven to be a lethal combination. Waite has thrown for 200 yards this season, while Swank has 13 catches for 197 yards. Hoisington's Avery Urban leads the league in rushing yards with 134.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Eagles' Swank goes up against the Cardinals' Brandon Ball.
Next week's game between Ellinwood and Hoisington will feature a good passing match up as Waite will test his arm against Ball's defensive ability.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Dusty Beam's team and Jason Ingram's team face off next week.
The Eagles are in fourth place, while the Cardinals are in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when Ellinwood and Hoisington face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 24 this season, while the Cardinals have scored 25. Ellinwood scored 16 points last week as it fell to Ellis.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of the Eagles' Waite. He connected with Swank on a 76-yard throw and catch as Ellinwood lost to the Railroaders.
