Leake Academy waltzed into their game  on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Riverfield Academy Raiders 45-16. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Leake Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   George Wilcox, who threw for 288 yards and four  TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also punched in one  touchdown on the ground. Wilcox has been hot, having  posted three or more  passing touchdowns the last five times he's  played.  Gage Warren was  Wilcox's top target, picking up 157 receiving yards and three  scores.
 Leake Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Coby Kemp and  Brennan Evans. Kemp also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with 19.
Leake Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Riverfield Academy,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Leake Academy will take on Tri-County Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Leake Academy will need to watch out since Tri-County Academy has now posted at least 31  points  in their last five matchups. As for Riverfield Academy, they will face off against Central Hinds Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
