Richland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Pass Christian Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Pass Christian is ranked 50th).
After only seven points in their last game, Richland made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Andrew's Episcopal on Thursday. Richland simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Andrew's Episcopal 56-20 at home. Richland pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit St. Andrew's Episcopal had little chance of recovering from.
JaQuavion Young had a dynamite game for Richland, rushing for 115 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Pass Christian was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 35-27 victory over Bay. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pass Christian.
Pass Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ladd Scriber, who threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Anthony James also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.
Richland's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Pass Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
