It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Calhoun/Brussels Warriors can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 32-14 to Camp Point Central. Calhoun/Brussels' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Calhoun/Brussels still got an impressive performance from Pat Friedel, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also caught a touchdown. Friedel was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
Camp Point Central was led to victory by Drew Paben and Elijah Genenbacher. Paben rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Genenbacher rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.
Calhoun/Brussels' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Camp Point Central, they have yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Calhoun/Brussels does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Camp Point Central will be playing at home against Althoff Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Althoff Catholic's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
