The Shelbyville Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 57-34 loss at the hands of Tuscola. While losing is never fun, Shelbyville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Tuscola is ranked 152nd).
Shelbyville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kenzie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Dru Clark was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 14 rebounds.
Shelbyville bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Tuscola, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Shelbyville will take on Fisher at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fisher focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Tuscola, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rantoul at 7:00 p.m.
