The Northgate Broncos fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 72-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ugly Eagles. It was the first time this season that Northgate let down their fans at home.
Northgate lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being David Harris, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jake Andjus, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist.
Northgate's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Northgate will take on Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Diablo is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
