After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Simpson Academy, the Lamar Raiders were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 54-46 win over Wayne Academy. This was payback for Lamar, who suffered a 56-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Salone Elliott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Hart, who scored 12 points.
Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-16 record this season. As for Wayne Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Lamar will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Wolves at 7:45 p.m. on February 7th. Rossville Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully the Raiders like a good challenge. Wayne Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
