Downers Grove North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hope Sebek, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Parker, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Plainfield East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell 66-53 to Romeoville.
Plainfield East might have lost, but man, Lexi Sepulveda was a machine: she scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That was a full 49.1% of Plainfield East's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Anna Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Downers Grove North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season. As for Plainfield East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 20 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Downers Grove North have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 40% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Plainfield East struggles in that department as they've made 38% of their threes this season.
