The Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Field 61-35. The score was close at the half, but Model Secondary School for the Deaf pulled away in the second half with 40 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Model Secondary School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Florio, who scored nine points along with seven assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Burckhardt, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Model Secondary School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Field, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Model Secondary School for the Deaf will be playing in front of their home fans against School Without Walls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. School Without Walls presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Model Secondary School for the Deaf in District of Columbia (School Without Walls is ranked 19th, while Model Secondary School for the Deaf is ranked 158th). As for Field, they will head out on the road to challenge Washington International at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington International will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
