On Friday, LEAD Academy ended up a good deal behind Portland and lost 68-51. LEAD Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
LEAD Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Petway, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Dreshawn Harvell who scored 11 points. Petway is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jalen Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring four points.
LEAD Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Portland, they pushed their record up to 11-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
LEAD Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Riverdale is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Portland, they will be playing at home against Macon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Macon County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Portland is ranked 167th).
