The West Lincoln Rebels will challenge the Foard Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
West Lincoln managed to slip by Bunker Hill the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. West Lincoln lost 11-2 to Bunker Hill on Tuesday. The game marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
West Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabrielle Wright, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foard). They walked away with an 8-4 win over East Burke on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won seven in a row.
Sophia Rhoney and Karsyn Sigmon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rhoney didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sigmon pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. At the plate, Rhoney scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2, while Sigmon scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Sigmon a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alexa Stillwell was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Livi Queen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Foard's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Lincoln, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Foard's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Foard, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain West Lincoln's hitters?
West Lincoln took their victory against Foard in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 11-5. Does West Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Foard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
