Mitchell extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Jefferson Dragons. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Dragons are ranked 277th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mitchell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daren Long, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Andreas Zayas, who rushed for 93 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.
Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 30-8 defeat against East Lake on the 12th. As for Jefferson, they have also already played their next contest, a 39-0 victory against Brandon on the 12th.
