Fans got a thrill when Mitchell Smith and Ryan Childs connected against Kane. The longest such play in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this season, the connection resulted in 55 yards.
Curwensville moved up to 253 from 292 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Golden Tide climbed the ranks as a result of besting Brockway 42-22.
The Wolves' dynamic duo of Kevin Cleer and Tyler Rolick proved tough for Elk County Catholic to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cleer threw for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns and Rolick had 105 yards receiving. Andrew Pierson helped Kane's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 67 yards.
He was 11-18 with 0 interceptions.
Zach Tibbens provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Curwensville beat the Rovers. Tibbens' key target this week was Austin Jacobson, who caught 3 passes for 53 yards.
Tibbens was a force in the backfield as Andy Evanko's team defeated Brockway.
Frank Zocco's team's Alec Shaffer-Doan and Anthony Benson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Shaffer-Doan has thrown for 1,410 yards this season, while Benson has 43 catches for 605 yards. Tibbens from the Golden Tide leads the league in rushing with 1,068 yards.
A big matchup in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this week will be when Ridgway/Johnsonburg takes on Curwensville. Ridgway/Johnsonburg is currently in third, while the Golden Tide are in second.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Kane beat the Crusaders 35-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
