The Tiospa Zina Wambdi will face off against the Red Cloud Crusaders at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Tiospa Zina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Tiospa Zina lost a heartbreaker to Britton-Hecla when they met back in January of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again. Tiospa Zina fell to Britton-Hecla 51-46. Tiospa Zina has struggled against Britton-Hecla recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaia Bersheim, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals. Latice Rodlund was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Red Cloud gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hill City 78-51 at home.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 21 points along with 9 assists. Another player making a difference was Jodene Hunter, who scored 14 points along with 6 assists.
Tiospa Zina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Red Cloud, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
