Price Posts Huge Game in 36-26 Win
Starting off the list is Ponder's Tyson Price, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Price threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made nine total tackles, and defended a pass.
This year, Price has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 272 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had 12 passing touchdowns.

Vernon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Schoppa and Vernon will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Johnny Arellano Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Ponder was led to victory by Johnny Arellano, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Arellano rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (109.3) per game. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards.
On the year, Arellano has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 109.3 rushing yards per game.

A Season-Best Performance from Maddox Parks Leads Boyd over Vernon
Sadly, Maddox Parks posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Boyd over Vernon on Friday. Parks rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 11 total tackles and defending a pass.
Boyd is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Parks and Boyd will challenge Bowie on Friday.

Hunter Etter Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Boyd had to settle for second even though Hunter Etter put up the best numbers he has all season. Etter picked up 158 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 97 yards.
This year, Etter has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 81 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 15.83 receiving yards per game.
