The Suwannee Bulldogs were the 69-56 winner over the Lafayette Hornets when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Suwannee fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 55-53. Suwannee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lafayette found their leader in underclassman Tywan Williamson, who scored 19 points. Williamson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Amarie Fleming, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Suwannee has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Lafayette, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Suwannee will take on the Rams at TBD on Tuesday. Lafayette will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hamilton County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
