The Yreka Miners''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 8-7 to West Valley. Yreka has struggled against West Valley recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Yreka's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Trevan Crane, who rushed for 102 yards on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Mason Rabago, who rushed for 118 yards.
Jack Casey was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Yreka's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for West Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
Yreka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Valley will head out on the road to face off against Orland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 430 points over their last nine games.
