The Valley Stream South Falcons took a 72-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Friends Academy Quakers. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Quakers 17-13 in the first quarter.
Friends Academy found their leader in sophomore Eyan Valadez, who posted 31 points along with seven assists and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valadez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Jordan, who had 18 points.
The win got Friends Academy back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Stream South will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Freeport at 12:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. As for Friends Academy, they will head out to challenge Seaford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
