The Vista Ridge Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Round Rock Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Vista Ridge is ranked 167th, while Round Rock is ranked 172nd).
Vista Ridge fell victim to Vandegrift's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 45-0 defeat at the hands of the Vipers. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, Vista Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.
Even if they lost, Vista Ridge's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Kaden Dees and his two sacks.
Round Rock never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cedar Ridge last Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 48-7 win over the Raiders. Round Rock pushed the score to 41-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Cedar Ridge had no chance of recovering from.
Round Rock can attribute much of their success to Mason Cochran, who rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and Israel Murphy, who rushed for 109 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Vandegrift's victory bumped their season record to 9-0 while Vista Ridge's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
Vista Ridge was dealt a bruising 51-10 defeat at the hands of Round Rock when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Vista Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
