After flying high against the Alturas Prep Pumas last Thursday, the North Gem Cowboys came back down to earth. North Gem was dealt a 69-25 defeat at the hands of Rockland on Friday. North Gem has not had much luck with Rockland recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
North Gem's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Evan O'Brien, who scored six points along with ten rebounds, and Ryver Hayden who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Hayden is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.
North Gem's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Rockland, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
North Gem will stay at home for another game and welcome Grace Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully North Gem focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. Rockland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
