They enjoyed a cozy 68-51 win over Portsmouth. This was payback for Fairland, who suffered a 55-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Fairland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylee Bruce led the charge by scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Bree Allen was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds.
Fairland's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.7 points. As for Portsmouth, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3.
Coincidentally, Fairland and the Trojans will both be playing the Lions the next time they take the court. Portsmouth will head out to face Boyd County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Fairland will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
