The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Bullis came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Maryland, while Miami Country Day is ranked 29th in Florida).
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ivanna Manyacka, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The match was Manyacka's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Meghan Yarnevich was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Bullis' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Miami Country Day, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
