Baseball Recap: Salem's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Salem can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past the East Alton-Wood River Oilers 11-1. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jalen Inlow was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Carter Lowe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Salem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Salem's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-7. As for East Alton-Wood River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
