Baseball Recap: Springville Beats Corner for Their Fourth Straight Win

Springville had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Corner Yellow Jackets as they made off with an 8-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Springville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan King, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Springville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive contests.

Springville pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Corner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Springville and Corner should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Tigers will take on Gadsden City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 158). Meanwhile, Corner (ranked 113th) will meet Cordova (ranked 244th) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
