The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs and the Timpson Bears squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs had to settle for second. Corrigan-Camden was beaten by Timpson 68-7. Corrigan-Camden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-0.
Michael Sullivan threw for 60 yards on four of 12 attempts.
Terry Bussey was a one-man wrecking crew for Timpson as he threw for 304 yards and six touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 88 yards on only five carries. Chris Nickleberry was another key contributor, picking up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Corrigan-Camden's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-4 Groveton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.7% over those games). As for Timpson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Corrigan-Camden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Timpson will square off against Wolfe City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolfe City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
