Baseball Recap: Blair Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Blair put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Carney Bulldogs with a sharp 7-1 win. Fans of the Broncos have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

James Thomas was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Thomas was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Christian Castillo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Blair hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Blair's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carney, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Blair has already played their next contest (against Mulhall-Orlando), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Carney, they will square off against Olive at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
