It's was a good run, but Southern Coffey County finally witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. It was a hard-fought matchup, but they had to settle for a 36-46 loss against St. Paul last Friday. Southern Coffey County got a solid performance out of senior Dawson Leimkuhler, who rushed for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. If you haven't heard Leimkuhler's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past eight games.
Meanwhile, Wakefield came into their this week averaging 32.86 points per game, but Wakefield fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 8-40 punch to the gut against Waverly. The low total for Wakefield limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
