Basketball Recap: Sioux City East Skates Past South Sioux City with Ease

There's no place like home for Sioux City East, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They claimed a resounding 80-40 victory over the South Sioux City Cardinals. The Black Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 27 points or more this season.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamison Housman, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Painter, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Sioux City East pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for South Sioux City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Sioux City East will venture away from home to take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for South Sioux City, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the South Sioux City Cardinals face off against the Norfolk Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
