The Williamstown Blue Devils lost against the Thetford Academy Panthers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Williamstown fell to Thetford Academy 49-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williamstown in their matchups with Thetford Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Williamstown still got an impressive performance from Evan Bailey, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Bailey scored a full 41.9% of Williamstown's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Laggner, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Williamstown bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Thetford Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Williamstown will be home for the holidays to greet Vergennes at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Vergennes is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Thetford Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Oxbow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
