Westfield School is 2-8 against Deerfield-Windsor since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hornets will head out to face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. Westfield School's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Deerfield-Windsor's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Westfield School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over Tiftarea Academy. The Hornets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 15th (when they won 44-0).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westfield School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stone St. Clair, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 30 yards and one touchdown. St. Clair's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Brock Johnson was another key signal caller, throwing for 241 yards and one TD.
Westfield School didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Tiftarea Academy to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from seven players: Win Hoots, Evan Skinner, Carson Underwood, Caleb Andrews, Sammy McGehee, Liam Sexton, and Brooks Bentley, who each logged one passes deflected. Westfield School wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.3%.
Meanwhile, Deerfield-Windsor strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 21-3 win over Pinewood Christian. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Patriots are ranked 219th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Deerfield-Windsor's win came from a few key players Westfield School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gabe Daniel, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Another player making a difference was Lane Sceals, who threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Deerfield-Windsor's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Luke Ivey was the leader with two sacks. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Westfield School's record is now 8-3. As for Deerfield-Windsor, their record now sits at 11-0.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Johnson and Sceals. Johnson just won't slow down this season and has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 162.2 passing yards per game. Sceals has been a dominant force too and has thrown 33 touchdowns (and and only 3 pick) while averaging 242.6 passing yards per game.
Westfield School suffered a grim 33-7 defeat to Deerfield-Windsor in their previous meeting back in August. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
