The Rossville Hornets will challenge the Delphi Community Oracles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rossville will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Rossville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over Eastern. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Avery Layton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other pitching news, Jillian Morris looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Rossville got a massive performance out of Autumn Paschal, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Paschal a new career-high. Finley Gibson was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Rossville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .638. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delphi Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Eastern 9-8.
Mairi Cunningham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight earned runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Kylynn Spitznagle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Emma Draper, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Rossville's victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Delphi Community, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rossville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .394. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Rossville's way against Delphi Community when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Rossville made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Oracles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
