The Robertsdale Golden Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 63-39 defeat at the hands of Hillcrest. While losing is never fun, Robertsdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Hillcrest is ranked 60th).
Robertsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kole Singler, who scored ten points. Tanner Williams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Robertsdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Hillcrest, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.
Robertsdale will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against McGill-Toolen at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. McGill-Toolen will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Hillcrest will take on Blount at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
