The Lisle Lions will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Walther Christian Academy Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walther Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lisle, who comes in off a win.
Lisle made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Chicago Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Lisle was the clear victor by a 20-10 margin over Chicago Christian on Monday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly ten runs.
Megan Bradley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Bradley was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Madysen Cole was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. McKenna Riley was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Lisle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Walther Christian Academy lost 19-3 to ITW David Speer Academy on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by exactly 16 runs.
Selah Argueta was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Walther Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Lisle, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything went Lisle's way against Walther Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Lisle made off with a 15-2 win. Will Lisle repeat their success, or does Walther Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
