The Fairport Red Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-73 victory over Rush-Henrietta. The victory was nothing new for Fairport as they're now sitting on three straight.
Rush-Henrietta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Avery Council, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Jalen Taggart was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds.
Fairport pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Rush-Henrietta, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Fairport will head out on the road to face off against Penfield at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Penfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Rush-Henrietta, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hilton at 7:00 p.m. Hilton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rush-Henrietta in New York (Hilton is ranked 70th, while Rush-Henrietta is ranked 216th).
