The Southeast Halifax Trojans won against the Northwest Halifax Vikings last Friday with 82 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Southeast Halifax strolled past Northwest Halifax with points to spare, taking the game 82-66. Given Southeast Halifax's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Northwest Halifax is ranked 576th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Trayvese Silver, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Travis Johnson Jr., who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Southeast Halifax and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Northwest Halifax, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Halifax will challenge KIPP P at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Halifax, they will head out on the road to take on Northampton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northampton County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 917 points over their last 13 games.
