There's no place like home for the Italy Gladiators, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Rio Vista 41-26 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Italy also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Italy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landry Janek led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amyriah Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Italy's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Rio Vista, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Italy will challenge Frost at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Frost focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Rio Vista, they will head out on the road to face off against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Rio Vista likes a good challenge.
