Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Mt. Pleasant's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

While Mt. Pleasant's victory against Marshall wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Mt. Pleasant came out on top against Marshall on Friday by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Mt. Pleasant has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. Marshall is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Coincidentally, Mt. Pleasant and Marshall will both be playing Jacksonville the next time they take the field. Mt. Pleasant will head out to face Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marshall will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
