For the first time this season, Mohawk will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to challenge the Colonel Crawford Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Colonel Crawford will be up against a hot Mohawk squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Mohawk blew past Willard 30-1 on Monday.

Aubrey Gottfried made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Katie Woodland and Mallory Brickner did most of the damage at the plate: Woodland fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances, while Brickner went 4-for-6 with eight RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most hits Brickner has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Averie Barth, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
Mohawk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willard only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colonel Crawford). They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Crestline on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Like Mohawk, Colonel Crawford also got a great game from a two-way player: Peyton Rowlinson. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Rowlinson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Olivia Friley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Alaina Parr was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Colonel Crawford pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mohawk, their record now sits at 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mohawk has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Colonel Crawford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mohawk took their victory against Colonel Crawford when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-6. Does Mohawk have another victory up their sleeve, or will Colonel Crawford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
