Trinity Christian is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while AZ Compass Prep National is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Warriors will host the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Trinity Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Wickenburg Christian Academy. They had just enough and edged out the Lion 3-2. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Warriors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Josh Partin and Connor Wallace were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Partin tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Wallace didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Partin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Partin scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Wallace scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Partin has posted since back in March of 2024.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Brenner, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, AZ Compass Prep National got themselves on the board against Alta Vista on Tuesday, but Alta Vista never followed suit. They blew past the Lobos 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Sebastian Quiroz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Quiroz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for AZ Compass Prep National, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Trinity Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like AZ Compass Prep National struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Trinity Christian took their victory against AZ Compass Prep National in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
